چکیده

Abstract This present paper is focused on the investigation of combustion characteristics torrefied pellet biomass from agricultural waste. Four samples such as sugarcane bagasse, Napier grass, Palm Empty Fruit Bunches, and Cassava stem were in a designed cylinder tubular pyrolysis reactor. The reactor was set up under 30 min residence time, temperature reaction varied at 200, 250, 300 °C an inert atmosphere. products then characterized terms their psychochemical properties proximate, ultimate, calorific value, properties. raw pellets during process investigated by thermogravimetric analyzer Exstar SII TG/DTA7300. heated ambient to 800 constant heating rate airflow 10 °C/min airflow. results showed that moisture content volatile matter decreased 2 5% 8 14%, subsequently. Otherwise, fixed carbon three times higher than material. study conclusively torrefaction can also able enhance performance ignition burnout temperature, index, rate. shows that, temperatures are index lower material, have longer burning time temperature.

Experiments on torrefied wood pellet: study by gasification and characterization for waste biomass to energy applications

Samples of torrefied wood pellet produced by low-temperature microwave pyrolysis were tested through a series of experiments relevant to present and near future waste to energy conversion technologies. Operational performance was assessed using a modern small-scale downdraft gasifier. Owing to the pellet's shape and surface hardness, excellent flow characteristics were observed. The torrefied p...

Grindability and combustion behavior of coal and torrefied biomass blends.

Biomass samples (pine, black poplar and chestnut woodchips) were torrefied to improve their grindability before being combusted in blends with coal. Torrefaction temperatures between 240 and 300 °C and residence times between 11 and 43 min were studied. The grindability of the torrefied biomass, evaluated from the particle size distribution of the ground sample, significantly improved compared ...

Biodiesel Oil Derived from Biomass Solid Waste

Oils of a significant value both as fuels as well as for cosmetic applications can be extracted from the fruits of the jojoba plant. After extracting the oil, the remains of the fruit can still be further utilized as a solid fuel in furnaces or feedstock to animals. In the present work, the solid waste jojoba remains have been processed chemically to extract more biodiesel oil. The physical and...

Combustion of Solid Waste from Wood-Based Ethanol Production

The solid residue from wood-based ethanol production has a low ash content and high heating value, making it interesting for combustion applications, e.g. small-scale appliances and gas turbines. Combustion and gasification properties have been studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Char combustion rate data obtained could be used in combustion s...
